While at Cornell pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, Carol found herself attracted to printmaking and textiles courses. It came as no surprise that Carol went to Indonesia, where she began to work with traditional batik makers to conjure up her signature style that we all know as Very Vineyard.
The flagship store, “Very Vineyard,” was opened in 1987 in historic Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard. She began designing clothing for the store in 1991 and distributing to other stores in 1993.
The Very Vineyard Collections build on a tried and true fit that comes from working and updating the styles constantly to make them comfortable for women. Carol names all of her styles so it is easy to remember your favorites from one Very Vineyard Collection to the next.
